Common Issues

Below are some common problems users may encounter while configuring quantity or cart limits, along with detailed guidance to resolve them effectively.

Limits Aren’t Working as Expected

Issue
You’ve set global or product-level rules, but the restrictions don’t seem to apply correctly on the frontend.

Possible Cause
Role-based limits are likely overriding your other settings.

Solution:

  • Go to WooCommerce > Min Max Quantities > Roles.
  • Check if the Enable limits option is turned on for the user role you’re testing with (e.g., “Customer”).
  • If role-based rules are active, they will override any global, category, or product-level rules.
  • Either adjust the role-specific rules accordingly or disable them for testing the other rule levels.

Tip
Role-based limits are the most authoritative. Always review them first when a conflict arises.

Category Rules Not Being Applied

Issue
You’ve applied limits to specific categories, but the restrictions don’t seem to reflect on the frontend.

Possible Cause
Role-based or product-level rules may be taking priority, or the Ignore category limits option might be active.

Solution:

  • First, ensure that the product you’re testing belongs to the selected category.
  • Navigate to WooCommerce > Min Max Quantities > Roles, select the relevant user role, and scroll to Category Limits.
  • Make sure Ignore category limits for products in the cart is unchecked, as checking it will bypass all category-level restrictions.
