How to Configure Variation Title

Customizing how your product variations appear—both on the storefront and in search engines—can make a big difference in clarity and SEO performance. The Variation Title settings let you take control of variation titles, attribute formatting, and more.

This document guides you through the Variation Title configuration located in: WordPress Dashboard → WooCommerce → Settings → Single Variation Settings

Now, scroll down to locate the Variation Title.

This section gives you several options to customize how variation titles are displayed and how attributes are handled.

Variation Title

Enable Custom Variation Title

Turn this option on to set unique titles for each variation manually. Once enabled, a new field appears inside each product variation where you can enter a custom title.

SEO Title Template

This setting lets you define how the variation title should appear in SEO metadata using dynamic placeholders.

Attributes Template

Customize how variation attributes appear in product titles or on listings.

Attribute Names Appendix

Controls how multiple attributes are shown together in a variation title.

If a product has more than one attribute (like color and size), this setting helps generate a readable title like: T-Shirt in Color Black and Size S.
