Once your coupon display options are set, the next step is to define how coupons are created and applied when a review is approved.
This settings let you customize every part of the reward coupon, from its prefix and value to its validity period and usage limits. This ensures that each coupon aligns with your store’s promotional goals and review strategy.
Access the Settings
In your WordPress dashboard, go to WooCommerce → Review for Discount and open the General Settings tab.
Configure Coupon Generation Options
Here you can define the format, discount value, and usage behavior for all automatically generated coupons:
- Coupon Prefix: Add a custom prefix (e.g., review-) to help you easily identify coupons generated by this plugin in your WooCommerce coupon list.
- Coupon Description: Enter a brief note describing the purpose of the coupon or its related campaign, to help you track rewards later.
- Coupon Amount: Specify the discount amount, for example, 5 for a $5 fixed discount or 10 for a 10% percentage discount.
- Coupon Usage Limit: Restrict how many times a single coupon can be used. This prevents overuse and ensures fair distribution of rewards.
- Discount Applicability: Decide whether the coupon applies to All Products, Specific Products, or Specific Categories.
- Discount Type: Choose whether the discount should be a Fixed Cart Discount or a Percentage Discount.
- Coupon Validity: Set how long the coupon remains active by entering the number of days before expiration (for example, 7 for a one-week validity).
Example: To offer a 10% discount valid for a week after a review, you might set: Coupon Prefix: review-, Discount Type: Percentage Discount, Coupon Amount: 10, Coupon Validity: 7.
Save and Test
After adjusting the settings, click Save Changes. Submit a sample review to verify that a coupon is automatically generated with the correct discount and expiration details.
