Restock Notification Not Sending – What to Check

If customers are not receiving restock notifications, here are a few things to verify:

Check General Settings

  • Go to WooCommerce > Stock Notifier > General Settings.
  • Ensure “Enable Notifier” is checked.
  • Ensure “Send Notification on Product Update” is enabled to trigger the notification when product stock is updated.

Email Settings

  • Go to the Email Settings tab.
  • Ensure both Requesting Stock Email and Back in Stock Email templates are configured correctly.
  • Make sure you haven’t disabled email sending in WooCommerce > Settings > Emails.

Product Status

  • Ensure the product’s stock status has changed from “Out of stock” to “In stock”.
  • The stock quantity should be above zero.

Other Checks

  • Test with a known email to see if the email is landing in spam/junk.
  • Ensure WordPress is able to send emails by testing with another plugin or contact form.
